Larry McGuire
A full-time minister since 1994, he holds the priesthood office of Seventy. Prior to accepting full-time ministerial responsibilities, he was a teacher at Boyd Anderson High School. While in Chicago, McGuire served as Director of the Urban Ministry Center, as well as the co-chair of Chicago Faith Initiative, member of boards for Homeless on the Move for Equality (HOME), the Interfaith Council for the Homeless, and the Dollars and Democracy Project. Larry received a B.A. from Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, in 1983 and completed his M.A.R. degree from Park College in 1997. He has received special training in church planting, congregational consulting, urban missionary training, and spirituality counseling in substance abuse programs. McGuire is also a facilitator for Covey's Seven Habits. McGuire has served the church in various positions of leadership such as district president, pastor and bishop's agent. McGuire is married to Kimberly (Rader) McGuire. They have one son, Cory. Community of Christ International Headquarters is located in Independence, Missouri. |
